Prom Queen June

The month of June puts me over the moon - so much to plan, prepare and partake in. There's Father's Day, Flag Day, Prom, Graduation and don't forget about those June Brides! April showers may bring May flowers, but June just sings of celebrations. And, the shops at The Promenade have the ideal items for every occasion. Pencil me in for the first official garden party - I'll bring the Sangria and the sunscreen!

Remember, out is in, and in is out! Looking forward to seeing you out and about at The Promenade Shops at Briargate!

Your Questions Answered by The Prom Queen

Dear Prom Queen:
Our Dad loves to tinker around in the kitchen. Any hot ideas on what to give him for Father's Day? We thought about getting him his own cooking show, but Mom won't let him quit his day job. Too bad, because he makes a kicking chicken a la king.

Hungry for some Helpful Hints

Dear Hungry Helpers -
Have I got a recipe for you! Start out with a trip to The Promenade Shops at Briargate. Allow a generous amount of time for prep previewing. Sample some of the fabulous options available and then - dig in. Here's some food for thought: how about picking up a couple of celeb chef cookbooks at Williams Sonoma? They have the 101 on high-end gourmet, backyard grilling and down home good cooking. Colorado Steak Company also has a specialty section with a selection of kitchen gadgets that would delight any culinary king. Jos. A. Bank is key in the Khaki department, so pick up a pair, and a spare, to complete the casual chef look. And, if you want to give him the five star treatment, check out the popular Ted's Montana Grill, they offer gift cards which Dad can use to treat the whole gang. Good luck, Hungry Helpers. One stop shopping at The Promenade provides you with all the ingredients needed to create a delicious Dad's day!

Dear Prom Queen:
I'm going to a ball and the theme is The Great Gatsby. What's your suggestion on style of dress and accessories? I would like to keep it simple and not show up at The Great Gatsby looking ghastly!

Dear Daisy in a Dilemma -
This classic age-old question does not require book smarts - just fashion sense. However, you have come to the right source for a crash course on proper couture. Lesson one: Start at The Promenade Shops at Briargate. This season Banana Republic is featuring a line of silk and linen classics that ooze elegance. To shake thing up, waltz into Ann Taylor for the latest in fashionable footwear - the open toe peeps are a particular favorite of mine. Coldwater Creek has it all wrapped up when it comes to wraps. Next, head on over to Ulta Salon for an up-do that will bring down the house. You may want to consider a tiny Tiara from Claire's to top off the entire look of grace, sophistication and elegance.

My Dear Daisy, I have a royal feeling if you follow my lesson plan, you will be the Belle of the Ball - just don't lose your slipper!

Dear Prom Queen:
My niece and nephew are graduating this month and I am not sure what to give them. One is into sports and outdoor adventure while the other is into - well quite frankly - I'm not sure. Hmmm. I just don't want to write the check and call it a gift. What would you do?

Checking Out on a Graduation Gift

Checking Out -
Sometimes spending more time, energy and money on a simple graduation gift just doesn't add up. My suggestion is - The Gift Card. It's a win/win for everyone. The kids know you thought enough to treat them to one of the many stores at The Promenade, and you can be rest assured they will use it! Save yourself some time and buy it on-line at www.thepromenadeshopsatbriargate.com. If you want to add a tassel to the cap - so to speak - dress it up with some treats from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, a cool knapsack from Eddie Bauer, or include it in a frame from Olivia & Rose - they may want to change it out and replace it with their diploma. Now that's genius!

Dear Prom Queen:
HELP! I'm getting married in two weeks and still don't have my bridesmaids gifts! Do you think an I.O.U. is too impersonal? I'm overstressed, under pressure, and low on funds - basically I'm running on empty and totally embarrassed. Any advice?

Don't let some pre-marital jitters give you the wedding bell blues - you need to re-fuel and refocus. With less than less than 336 hours left until blast off, I suggest you brace yourself with a Starbucks Doubleshot and then proceed to Olivia & Rose for a professional consultation on wedding party thank-you gifts. Word on the street is that Brighton Collectibles also has some to die for bling that won't break the bank. If you want to offer the girls pre-nup pampering of their own - the new Bath & Body Works is the way to go. A little aroma therapy will help calm their nerves (and yours). Yankee Candle has a fragrance to make all the gals smile. Best wishes for a happily ever after!
